Detailed Itinerary
Day one of the 7 days Uganda primates & game safari will be for the driver guide to pick you from a hotel and transfer to Kibale National Park, Western Uganda about 5-6 hours’ drive. Drive up to Kibale National Park starting from Kampala via Mubende, Fort Portal city and lunch at a hotel in Fort Portal. For early arrivals, you will have a short visit at Amabere caves, crater lakes and then go check into the lodge for overnight stay.

Enjoy an early morning breakfast and after, go for briefing about chimpanzee tracking rules at Kanyanchu Visitor Center. At 8:00am in your group of 6pax will be led by the park guide to search for chimpanzees and this will cover 2-4 hours which include one hour with chimpanzees upon finding them in the wild and photography. Retreat afterwards and enjoy lunch at your leisure then proceed for nature walk at Bigodi Wetland.

Early morning breakfast, after leave Kibale National Park for Queen Elizabeth National Park, 3-4 hours drive via Fort Portal while enjoying scenic views of the Crater Lakes. After an early morning cup of tea or coffee, board your 4x4 vehicle for a guided game drive via Kasenyi Plains/sector taking you 2-4 hours. The guided driver game safari will reward you with excellent views of bush elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, antelopes like Kobs, birds in large numbers. After, drive back to enjoy a leisurely lunch at the booked lodge and then be transferred for an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. Kazinga Channel boat/launch cruise will get you exposed to hundreds of hippos, crocodiles, water birds and so many.

A hefty breakfast at your leisure in the morning and after, a game drive be enjoyed along Ishasha sector. The Ishasha sector game drive is amazing as it gets you exposed to the stunning tree climbing lions on the tree branches. You then exit Queen Elizabeth National Park for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, 3-4 hours and your journey includes a stopover at Savanna resort for lunch. After, relaxation, dinner and overnight be at the booked lodge in Buhoma or other region around Bwindi.

A leisurely breakfast and after, briefing will be conducted at Buhoma area where you get to understand the etiquette for gorilla trekking. Allocation of a gorilla family will also be conducted on day 6 of your 7 days Uganda primates & game safari in Bwindi then you set off for actual trek to view, explore more about mountain gorilla behaviors starting at 8:00am. The gorilla trek takes from 2 to 6 hours of navigating through the dense forest, steep slopes and an hour will be allowed for you to have incredible moment with gorillas, taking pictures then you get back to the accommodation.
Have lunch if you didn’t go with some packed lunch and later after you have relaxed. Visit the Batwa pygmies in their local communities to learn more on their daily practices, lifestyles, how they hunted and gathered using ancient techniques. This will be accompanied with incredible dances, music performances etc.
